Banijay Kids & Family hires its first head of global licensing

Coming straight from Cloudco, Roubina Tchoboian will oversee consumer products programs for Banijay's Totally Spies! and Topo Gigio brands.

Banijay Kids & Family is bolstering its commercial division, hiring former Cloudco Entertainment exec Roubina Tchoboian to spearhead licensing in a newly created role. 

As the company’s first head of global licensing, Tchoboian will oversee and develop international licensing programs for Banijay’s portfolio of kids series, including Totally Spies!, Topo Gigio and Mr. Bean: The Animated Series. She started in her new role in August and reports to Delphine Dumont, Banijay Kids & Family’s chief commercial officer. 

Tchoboian is coming off a 13-year-stint at Cloudco, where she most recently worked as VP of international licensing and oversaw licensing programs and brand partnerships for the Care Bears, Tinpo and Holly Hobbie franchises. She also previously held sales and acquisition positions at Zodiak Rights and British broadcaster Sky.

Tchoboian’s hire comes at a time when Banijay’s studios are producing a wide range of kids and family shows that should soon be ripe for new licensing business. The current pipeline includes a seventh season of Totally Spies! (26 x 22 minutes), which is set to premiere on Cartoon Network (US), Gulli (France) and Discovery Kids LatAm in 2024. A deal for digital comics with French publisher Editions Dupuis is already done, and a console video game is in development with Paris-based developer Microids.
