Curiosity Ink

Grom Social’s prodco is gearing up to develop and co-produce a movie adaptation of ’80s animated series Denver, The Last Dinosaur with Missouri’s WEP, which owns the IP. Denver tells the story of a group of kids who stumble upon a young dino and decide to take care of him. It originally launched in 1988 as a 2D-animated series (50 x 30 minutes), and was rebooted in CG 30 years later by France’s Zagtoon.

Televisa

The Mexican broadcaster has picked up all six seasons of Sunny Bunnies (pictured) from distributor Media I.M. Produced by Polish indie Animation Café, the preschool series will debut on Televisa’s Canal 5 linear channel this summer. It stars five fluffy rabbits who are powered by light, and has also recently sold to Canal+ (Austria), TV2 Kids (Hungary) and Noga Communications (Israel).

Banijay Kids & Family

On the heels of its seventh season selling to Warner Bros. Discovery, Totally Spies! is getting a new console and PC video game that’s due out next year. Paris-based Microids is developing the title with the kids division of Banijay, which co-produces Totally Spies! with Gulli and Discovery Kids Latin America under its Zodiak Kids & Family banner. Both the series and game center around new missions the superspy trio takes on after moving out of Beverly Hills.

Toys “R” Us

Retailer El Puerto de Liverpool is bringing the TRU brand back into Mexico through a partnership with parentco WHP Global. According to a release, the plan is to launch a Mexican Toys “R” Us flagship store and a robust e-commerce platform during the 2023 holiday season. TRU also relaunched in Macy’s stores across the US last year, as well as heading back into the UK, India and Australia.
