Kidscreen Summit’s first time in San Diego is starting off with a big bang. American engineer and TV personality Bill Nye will give an opening keynote at the event that runs from February 4 to 7, 2024. 

Commonly known for his ’90s edu-comedy series Bill Nye the Science Guy, Nye has been engaging kids and families with science for decades. He’s obviously no stranger to the TV industry, and he’s never been far from the eyes of viewers. In recent years, Netflix ordered Bill Nye Saves the World, which ran for three seasons from 2017 to 2018. 

At Kidscreen Summit, Nye will talk about what he has learned about sparking a love of science in kids at a young age, his experience in the industry, and why now is the most exciting time to be working in space exploration. As CEO of the world’s largest space interest group The Planetary Society, he’s currently developing a sci-fi adventure series called Spaceships, which is in development with Sinking Ship Entertainment (Dino Dana). 

Recent Kidscreen Summit keynotes have included famed environmentalist Dr. Jane Goodall, award-winning author Kwame Alexander, and comedians Samantha Bee and Allana Harkin.
