Kidscreen Summit has unveiled new health & safety protocols for the 23rd edition of the live event that’s taking place in Miami from February 14 to 17, 2022.

All delegates, staff and visitors will need to either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an FDA- or WHO-approved vaccine, or undergo daily rapid antigen testing on-site for COVID-19 at their own cost. Unvaccinated delegates will also be required to pay a US$200 surcharge to cover costs associated with providing the on-site testing service, as well as extra security and staff to support this health & safety measure.

Vaccinated delegates must upload their proof of vaccination through an online portal, which will be open from November 29 to January 28. Those who don’t submit their documentation in time will be re-categorized as unvaccinated, and will then need to pay the surcharge and follow the daily testing protocols to access the event.

Delegates will be required to wear a mask in all indoor event spaces, but this could be subject to change. Masks can only be removed to eat or drink in designated areas, and delegates must supply their own masks.

Following the protocols outlined by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Kidscreen Summit team will be implementing a variety of other new measures to keep attendees safe. These include setting up a large outdoor meeting area (weather permitting), maintaining maximum capacity limits and following social distancing rules, providing touch-free hand-sanitizing stations, regularly sanitizing all meeting rooms, and swapping self-serve buffets for boxed meals and attendant-served buffets.

For those not planning to travel in Q1 2022, Kidscreen is also producing a Kidscreen Summit Virtual event from March 7 to 11. It will feature panel discussions, presentations, Q&As, speed pitching and networking opportunities and access to all session recordings from the live event, including the 2022 Kidscreen Awards ceremony. Live pass-holders will have access to both events. Registration for the live event is open now.
