Poet and children’s author Kwame Alexander will kick off Kidscreen Summit 2022 in Miami on February 14 with a keynote that explores his inspirational career, and how seizing opportunities and saying “yes” can transform a business—and the world.
Alexander’s writing has won numerous publishing honors, including a 2015 Newbery Award for The Crossover, telling the story of two basketball-playing tweens and written entirely in verse. The book is currently being adapted for Disney+, with Alexander serving as writer and executive producer, and he’s also developing TV concepts for The Jim Henson Company (Jelly Bean Dream Machine) and Boston-based pubcaster GBH (Acoustic Rooster).
Kidscreen Summit is returning to Miami as a live event running from February 14 to 17 next year. New health and safety policies—including vaccination and mask-wearing protocols—were unveiled last month. Registration is open now, and more information can be found on the Kidscreen Summit website.
