Paris-based studio Samka Group has hired former Cartoon Network SVP Tramm Wigzell (pictured, Ben 10) to be its first-ever global head of content.

Based in LA and reporting to CEO Samuel Kaminka, Wigzell is tasked with developing new animated and live-action projects with US market and international co-production potential. 

Wigzell will also oversee business development for the companies Samka owns and operates, including Jetpack Distribution (London), live-action studio Kam&Ka (Paris), factual producer Sklan&Ka (Tel Aviv) and Unique Animation (Angoulême). 

Working closely with each company’s leadership to build their presence and partnerships in the US, he’ll manage a portfolio of animated and live-action content for a demographic range spanning preschoolers to teens. 

Prior to joining Samka, Wigzel worked for 18 years at Cartoon Network, mostly recently as SVP of original series. He oversaw the development of all of the network’s original productions.
