Spin Master and Moonbug forge a content and licensing alliance

They'll work together on a new line of Blippi toys and animated Vida the Vet shorts for YouTube.

London-based Moonbug Entertainment and Toronto’s Spin Master Entertainment have signed a wide-ranging licensing and content deal spanning preschool brands from both companies’ portfolios.

Spin Master will serve as the global master toy licensee for Moonbug’s Blippi (pictured) and Little Angel IPs, launching new product ranges for both in 2025. This is another high-potential licensing deal for Spin Master, which took on global toy rights to upcoming Paramount+ original series Dora last month.

Working with a market-leading toy partner like Spin Master is also an L&M coup for Little Angel (new to Moonbug’s roster in 2022) and Blippi, which expanded its content arsenal this year with a spinoff and feature film

On the flip side of the deal, Moonbug will develop YouTube content for select Spin Master shows, starting with animated Vida the Vet shorts that are on track to roll out in 2024. This preschool series about a young veterinarian premiered in the fall on Canada’s Treehouse and CBeebies in the UK.

In addition, select Spin Master brands will also be featured across Moonbug’s many YouTube and connected TV channels.

According to Dan’l Hewitt, Moonbug’s head of global partnerships, this deal is leveraging each company’s strengths. While Spin Master brings toy expertise, Moonbug has a honed familiarity in digital-first content.
