Fréderic Gentet has joined the senior ranks of Parisian distributor Mediatoon, starting today in a newly created role as head of sales.
Based in Paris, Gentet will oversee sales and marketing for more than 10,000 half hours of kids programming in Mediatoon’s portfolio, spanning everything from recent additions such as SamSam: Cosmic Adventures (52 x 11 minutes) from Folivari and Bayard Jeunesse Animation, to older titles like The Garfield Show (214 x 11 minutes) from Dargaud Media and Paws.
In his new role, he reports to managing director Caroline Duvochel, who notes that the priorities for the company are to strengthen back catalogue sales and also work with Mediatoon Licensing to grow IPs and brands with international reach.
Gentet is coming off of two years at Princess Sam Pictures, where he oversaw the launch and distribution of tween series Tara Duncan until he left the company in June 2023. Before that, he headed up film and TV sales at French studio Millimages for five years, expanding the global footprint of its flagship IP Molang.
