The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has unveiled the nominations for its Children’s and Family Emmy Awards, which will be held independently from the Daytime Emmys for the second time on dates that have yet to be announced.

Disney leads the pack with a total of 92 nominations for programming from Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney Junior. The Mysterious Benedict Society (nine), Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (eight) and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (seven) scored the highest number of nominations for the company. 

Netflix finished the nominations race in second with 62, including multiple nods for Spirit Rangers (seven), Waffles + Mochi’s Restaurant (five) and StoryBots: Answer Time (five).

Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. cornered 33 nominations, with six for Monster High: The Movie and three each for The Tiny Chef Show and The Adventures of Paddington. Apple TV+ scooped up 27 nods, including five for Jane and four for Helpsters.

Overall, Sesame Street (Max) was the program with the highest number of nominations (12).

In 2021, NATAS announced the creation of a separate Children’s and Family Emmys awards ceremony from the Daytime Emmys to reflect the growth of the genre. With 50 categories, it’s now the largest competition that NATAS oversees.
