Entertainment One has added five new licensees to its robust consumer products program for hit preschool property Peppa Pig, while master toy licensee Jazwares has extended its product range to include construction sets for the US and Canada.

New licensees set to develop products based on the top-rated show on Nick Jr. in the US and Treehouse in Canada include Cra-Z-Art (crafts, activity), Accutime Watch (watches, novelty), Tin Box Company (tinware items), Pamson (seasonal summer items) and Zak Designs (mealtime items). Current licensee TCG Toys is also expanding its collection with a new home/outdoor floor mat.

Peppa Pig now has more than 700 licensees worldwide, and the property is tracking to clear US$1 billion at retail this year. The series currently airs in more than 180 territories and has been translated into over 40 languages.

Peppa is poised for even more growth following last week’s news that saw eOne take a 70% controlling stake in Astley Baker Davies, the London-based studio that created the IP. New TV episodes and a bolstered retail presence are in the works following the deal, which was worth US$212 million.
