Warner Bros. Discovery is giving its Boomerang channel in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong a preschool makeover.

Starting July 28, the channel will be broadcasted as Cartoonito, with a programming lineup and branding that primarily speaks to preschoolers. Joining the schedule are Cartoonito animated series Batwheels and Bugs Bunny Builders, as well as new shows from third-party partners such as Thunderbird Entertainment (Mittens and Pants, pictured) and Spin Master Entertainment (Vida the Vet). Also in the mix are preschool-friendly shows that were already on Boomerang in the region, including Tom & Jerry, Baby Looney Tunes and Dino Ranch. The channel will continue to be available in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Thai, Bahasa Malaysian and Bahasa Indonesian.

According to a release, the rebrand is a natural extension of a successful regional experiment from last year that saw the Cartoonito programming block launch on Boomerang and Cartoon Network.

While WBD refocuses its linear channel in Asia, Disney announced earlier this month that it will shut down six remaining TV channels in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea in order to drive consumers over to its OTT platforms.
