CBBC has greenlit a second season of Bro’s in Control, the BBC show about YouTubers competing in extreme challenges, which is set to launch later this year.

BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions is producing the new 15 x 15-minute season, which features YouTube celebs Adam Beales (three million subscribers), Callum Beales (349,000 subscribers) and Joe Tasker (206,000 subscribers) competing in challenges ranging from skydiving to completing a series of tasks with huge fake feet on.

Vix Harrison (Teeny Tiny Creatures) and Yvonne Jennings (Down on the Farm) are on board as producer and executive producer, respectively. The 15 x 15-minute first season of the series originally premiered on CBBC in 2022, before rolling out on BBC iPlayer.

Challenge and competition shows are a hot genre right now for kidcos. In March, Mattel announced that its iconic Hot Wheels toy car brand would get a series in which car fans would transform ordinary vehicles into Hot Wheels models. That same month, Mattel also kicked off co-production of a limited series called Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge about home design and renovation contests. And at the end of last year, Italian broadcaster Boing commissioned the live-action game show Wild Things, in which participants complete challenges in the woods while dressed as animals.
