Paula Taborda dos Guaranys has been named EVP of acquisitions and development at Paris-based distributor PGS Entertainment.

She started in her newly created position last Monday and is based in Barcelona, Spain. Taborda dos Guaranys will provide strategic direction for kids and family content development in the global market, and expand the company’s sales portfolio through acquisitions.

Prior to joining PGS, she worked for two years as director of content at Spain’s DeAPlaneta Entertainment (formerly Planeta Junior), where she was tasked with managing the producer/distributor’s production slate.

Earlier in her career, Taborda dos Guaranys spent two decades at Brazilian media conglomerate Grupo Globo. Her most recent role there was head of content, development and programming for Grupo Globo kids channels Gloob and Gloobinho, and she closed co-pro deals for series including Miraculous, Trulli Tales, Power Players and Alice & Lewis.

The PGS catalogue includes popular kids IPs such as ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks, Miraculous and Moominvalley. The company operates as a financing partner and brand manager, as well as a distributor.

PGS has recently brokered several international sales for the second season of Gus, The Itsy Bitsy Knight (52 x 11 minutes), which is set to premiere next year.
