“Studies suggest it is powerfully good for the brain, even if adults go to bilingual late in life. And this cognitive edge is not limited to language learning, although unsurprisingly it often shows up” (The Australian, 20 August 2014)

Bilingualism has never been so topical in Australia.

Currently in Australia, over 200 different languages are spoken, with roughly 19% of the population speaking a language other than English. Learning a second language also opens gateways to new cultures and is of ever increasing importance in our rapidly globalising world.

You are invited to attend an information evening (with Q&A) on bilingualism on Monday 15 September, 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Along with our experts, the evening will offer you the opportunity to explore the myths and misconceptions, as well as the benefits and challenges of raising a child in a bilingual environment. The evening will cover bilingualism as a general topic, not only restricted to French and English.

Venue: Telopea Park School, Lycée franco-australien de Canberra,
