India-based animation and VFX service studio Saffronic has hired digital marketing veteran Skyler Mattson as its first CEO.

In her new role, Mattson will oversee and develop Saffronic’s growth in animation, video games and advertising. She started last week, working remotely from LA, and reports to company co-founders Tim Sarnoff and Vince Pizzica, who formed the company in June 2022. Mattson will also work with SVP of business development Kristy Scanlan, who joined the studio earlier in April.

Existing clients include DreamWorks Animation (Gabby’s Dollhouse, Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight), WildBrain and LA-based prodco and software developer Trioscope. And Saffronic is working on several unannounced projects launching this fall, according to Mattson on Linkedin.

Mattson has spent the last 21 years serving as president of LA-based marketing and consumer insights agency WongDoody. During her tenure there, she directed the company’s sales and marketing operations, growing the agency from 100 employees to more than 2,000 working in offices across the US, India, Australia and London.

Sarnoff and Pizzica founded Saffronic to meet the demand for more animation services in the industry. In 2022, Precedence Research valued the global animation industry at US$391 billion, and it’s expected to hit US$587 billion by 2030.
