Spin Master hires first head of global toy brands

Former Mattel GM and marketing SVP Doug Wadleigh will oversee the development of toy brands, global business and product strategy.

Canadian toyco Spin Master has hired former Mattel marketing exec Doug Wadleigh to oversee product strategy and business development as its first head of global toy brands.

Starting in this newly created role today, Wadleigh is charged with driving growth across all toy categories and managing the sales and operations teams. He is based in LA and reports directly to Chris Beardall, Spin Master’s president of toys and chief commercial officer.

Wadleigh was most recently the founder and CEO of marketing consultancy Big Blue Skye. And before that, he held C-suite positions at companies including edtech firm The Baby Box Company (CEO) and Mattel (GM and SVP of marketing).
