Cineverse
Sid & Marty Krofft Pictures is looking to entertain a new generation of viewers with its nostalgic catalogue of kids shows from the ’70s and ’80s. The LA-based prodco has partnered with VOD company Cineverse (formerly Cinedigm) to launch a dedicated Sid & Marty Krofft channel streaming live-action fantasy series like The Bugaloos, Lidsville and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. This fits into a broader deal that will see Cineverse distribute S&MKP’s classic shows to digital platforms for the first time.
Toonz Entertainment
Production is underway on the second season of Zoonicorn, and Toonz has closed a bunch of new global deals for the preschool toon about zebra/unicorn characters who inhabit the dreams of young animals. Pluto TV and Happy Kids in the US, as well as global streamers Huashi TV (China), HK TV (Hong Kong), Astro (Malaysia) and IFC Media (Czech Republic), have all picked up the CG-animated show. Spanish-language YouTube channel El Reino Infantil, Mexico’s TV Azteca and LatAm nets Clan International and La TeleTuya also recently acquired Zoonicorn.
Hasbro
eOne’s top-performing preschool franchise Peppa Pig is setting off on a new voyage, with a cruise ship playset sailing into North American retailers this August. The just-announced product launch will coincide with a new four-part Peppa Pig Cruise Special (pictured) that’s set to premiere June 5 on Nick Jr. in the US. It sees Peppa and her friends traveling to a tropical island in search of adventure and buried treasure.
Jazwares
