Sky is licensing a “paw-pular” IP to help its new interactive camera appeal to kids and families.

The British broadcaster has launched a smart camera called Sky Live that connects to its two-year-old streaming TV Sky Glass.

The device’s features include Watch Together, which allows multiple households to see and hear each other while watching content simultaneously, and interactive workout app Mvmnt. Sky is also specifically courting younger demos with interactive games.

Sky Live rolled out yesterday with a new game called PAWsome Fitness, based on Spin Master’s PAW Patrol preschool franchise. The game uses “AI-powered body tracking and gesture control” to let kids move in sync with the PAW Patrol characters on screen, according to a release.

Plans are also underway to launch a Peppa Pig Sky Live game to target more viewers in the younger age bracket.

Beyond the game category, Sky has also developed a “VideoBooth” for the camera, using AR filters. This tool allows viewers to take selfies or short videos with characters from popular franchises such as PAW Patrol and DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls.
