Netflix has renewed original animated series The Dragon Prince for a third season. The series traces the epic quests of two human princes and an elfin assassin. There is currently no premiere date scheduled for the third season.

Produced by Netflix and LA- based Wonderstorm, the show’s first season launched in September 2018 and, just weeks after the series premiered, the SVOD giant ordered a second season, which premiered in February 2019.

The production team includes co-creators Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond, along with executive producer Giancarlo Volpe. Ehasz and Volpe were creative drivers on Nickelodeon’s The Last Airbender series, which Netflix is adapting into a live-action series.

In a bid to help its youngest viewers find new shows like The Dragon Prince, Netflix will start testing character-driven video previews later this year. The pilot program will see familiar faces from Netflix originals like Hilda, Next Gen and The Dragon Prince talk viewers through the plot of the show.
