Sesame Workshop has teamed up with Australian children’s music group The Wiggles to create new videos and playlists that will be available on both partners’ YouTube channels.
The collaboration kicks off with today’s launch of “ABCs of Moving You,” featuring The Wiggles and Sesame Street characters Elmo and Cookie Monster as they sing and dance their way through the alphabet. The music video is a remake of a popular 2013 Sesame segment featuring R&B star Usher that has generated more than 200 million views on YouTube.
Next up will be a remake of The Wiggles’ “Fruit Salad” song that’s set to drop in June.
The partners have also created a playlist of 20 existing songs from their respective catalogues, including The Wiggles’ “Wheels On The Bus” and Sesame’s “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with Julia & Elmo.”
This marks the second collaboration for The Wiggles and Sesame Workshop—they originally hooked up on The Wiggles track “Do the Propeller,” which dropped on YouTube in November 2019.
The Wiggles are gearing up to turn 30 this year, and Sesame Street marked its 50th anniversary in 2020; according to a release, the partnership will help both companies celebrate their shared history of entertaining and educating children.
