Kids First signs initial distribution deals

The four-month-old distribution company has signed its first wave of global deals for Nate is Late (pictured), Barbapapa and Elle, Oscar & Hoo.

Paris-based Kids First Distributionlaunched by Watch Next Media and Monells Productions at MIPCOM 2017has inked its inaugural crop of broadcast deals for animated series Nate is Late (pictured), Barbapapa and Ella, Oscar & Hoo.

Commissioned by France Télévisions, Super RTL (Germany) and Channel 9 (Australia), 52 x 11-minute Nate is Late is produced by Watch Next Media and Three’s A Company. Kids First has sold the series to Sony Pictures Television Networks for its free-to-air Pop channel (the UK and Italy), Discovery Kids (the Middle East and North Africa), SVT (Sweden), Channel 8 (Israel), TVB (Hong Kong) and VRT (Belgium).

Kids First has also signed three broadcasters for upcoming Normaal-produced series Barbapapa, which is heading to RAI (Italy), RTBF (Belgium) and YLE (Finland). The 52 x 11-minute toon is produced for TF1 and Nickelodeon Junior.

Ella, Oscar & Hoo (52 x 11 minutes), also from France’s Normaal, has sold to Discovery Kids (the Middle East and North Africa) VOD distributor JY Ent (China) and TVB (Hong Kong). It has already been picked up by Canal+ (France), YLE (Finland) and SVT (Sweden).
