LA-based global licensing agency Centa IP has bolstered its executive team with the appointment of former Hasbro and The Fusion Agency exec Gail Mitchell (pictured) as CEO. Based in Australia, Mitchell will oversee Centa’s ANZ business as well as the company’s global team. (Centa IP acquired Mitchell’s The Fusion Agency in July 2017.)

Centa has also tapped Val Fry as VP of licensing. Based in London, Fry will be responsible for the commercial exploitation of the agency’s brands and for growing its portfolio in the UK and EMEA. Fry joins Centa IP from Coolabi, where she served as director of licensing.

Centa IP has also expanded its roster of clients. On the heels of acquiring global licensing rights to Go Away, Unicorn! earlier this week, the company has struck similar agreements for children’s IPs Monster Teddies, Watchdog, Nate is Late and Kally’s Mashup.

Animated comedy Monster Teddies is produced by Cheeky Little Media, and Spin Master has signed on as master toy partner for the property. Watchdog, meanwhile, is produced by Sonar Entertainment and follows the sci-fi adventures of a brother and sister living 20 years in the future. Nate is Late follows a 10-year-old boy and his neighbor as they navigate different adventures on their way to school each morning. The animated series is produced by Trackdown Media and Watch Next Media. Nickelodeon Latin America’s musical telenovela Kally’s Mashup is produced by 360 Powwow and Anders Media, and Centa IP recently inked an agreement for the property’s global licensing rights in non-English speaking territories.

In addition, Centa IP recently picked up local representation for Pocket.watch and Ryan ToysReview through its Asia-Pacific office.
