Maurizio Distefano (MD) Licensing is developing a consumer products program in Italy based on preschool series Kit^n^Kate.

Produced by Cyprus-based Toonbox Animation Studio, Kit^n^Kate currently airs in Eastern Europe, Russia, Finland, Benelux, Australia, South Korea, Portugal, the Middle East and Africa. Digitally, it has garnered more than 160 million total views on its official YouTube channel, and is available globally via Kidoodle.TV, NetKids, Battery Pop and Toon Goggles.

The 16 x five-minute show was recently greenlit for two more seasons, bringing the total number of series eps to 102 by 2019. The show also boasts 160 million viewers on its official YouTube channel.

The series has already been supported by a consumer products push led by Rovio Entertainment, which is acting as the worldwide master consumer products licensee. (Rovio affiliate Kaiken Publishing was named as the property’s global master publisher earlier this year.)

Kit^n^Kate follows two kittens as they play in a magic box that transports them into new worlds. The show was co-created by Mike de Seve (Angry Birds Toons, Over the Hedge), Susan Kim (Pocoyo, Arthur), Jymn Magon (Duck Tales, A Goofy Movie) and Michael Mennies (The Fixies, Kikoriki).
