Toronto-based Spin Master has posted a 29% year-over-year increase in Q2 revenue, driven by a big bump in toy sales. The company’s total take for the quarter was US$506.3 million.

Toy revenue was up 34% to US$437.6 million, thanks to strength in the preschool, dolls & interactive division, which grew by 53% to US$228.8 million. But almost all of Spin Master’s toy segments were up this quarter—outdoor toys was the only exception, declining by roughly 52% to US$16.2 million.. The games, puzzles & plush segment grew 26% to US$123.6 million, and wheels & action increased 49% to US$115.8 million.

On the entertainment side of things, Spin Master’s revenue grew by 3% to US$28.4 million, with a bigger distribution performance by flagship series PAW Patrol (pictured) contributing to the result.

The company’s digital games division, typically a significant earner, generated 9.2% more revenue (US$40 million), thanks to more in-app purchases for Toca Life World.

Looking ahead, Spin Master is forecasting that its gross toy product sales and overall revenue for the rest of 2022 will increase by low double-digits compared to 2021.
