Disney+ is once more headed to a galaxy far, far away with the acquisition of LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special to round out its library of content based on the iconic brand.

The new special, which will premiere November 17, reunites many of the core Star Wars cast to celebrate the fictional Life Day holiday. Set after the events of recent blockbuster Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (which grossed more than US$1 billion worldwide against a US$275-million budget, according to Box Office Mojo), this latest extension of the franchise is produced by Lucasfilm, LEGO Group and Atomic Cartoons (The Last Kids on Earth). It’s directed by Ken Cunningham and written by EP David Shayne, with James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jason Cosler, Jacqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert and Keith Malone also attached as executive producers.

Building on the holiday angle in consumer products, the companies are partnering to launch a new LEGO Star Wars advent calendar, which drops September 1. Publisher Dorling Kindersley will also roll out a LEGO Star Wars-themed holiday sticker book in October.

Disney+  has been leaning heavily on Star Wars content to draw in fans of all ages since its launchFollowing the breakout success of The Mandalorian, the streamer has lined up first-ever Star Wars game show format Jedi Temple Challenge, as well as renewing animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars for a final season and ordering a Clone Wars spinoff called Star Wars: The Bad Batch
