With hit preschool property Peppa Pig surpassing US$1 billion at retail and tracking to double that number by 2020, IP owner eOne has expanded its licensing program Down Under.

New licensees include Hot Springs for a new range of Peppa Pig outerwear and sleepwear for its fall and winter collection, which will hit Big W discount department stores this month. Also in the apparel category, Pacific Brands has signed on to make a line of Peppa Pig branded underwear and socks.

eOne is also building on its long-standing partnership with Park Avenue Foods. The FMCG biscuit and confectionery manufacturer is extending its range to add Peppa Pig dessert treats and ice-creams into the frozen product aisles of Woolworth supermarkets.

Additionally, personal care products company Beiersdorf, which makes Elastoplast for wound care, is set to launch Peppa Pig Plasters into the Australian market in May.

Fresh off taking Peppa to mass retail in France and bolstering the North American licensing lineup, the global Peppa L&M program now has more than 700 licensees attached to it. As for the Peppa Pig TV series, it currently airs in more than 180 territories and has been translated into 40 languages.

And with Canada-based eOne recently taking a 70% controlling stake in Astley Baker Davies, the London-based animation studio behind Peppa Pig, there’s no signs the property will be slowing down, both at retail and on-screen, anytime soon.
